This means that, if you have provided personal data to us directly, we are using it with your consent or for the performance of a contract, and that data is processed using automated means, you can ask us for a copy of that personal data to re-use with another service or business in many cases.
i) Rights relating to automated decision-making and profiling.
For more information about our use of your personal data or exercising your rights as outlined above, please contact us using the details provided in Part 2.

We use our unique Zzjimi SmartSearch© algorithm, an automated system for carrying out certain kinds of decision-making and profiling. This is required to match user profiles with organisers of events and/or listings. Our Site relies on this automated system. If you do not wish for us to use this system then you should not open an account on this Site as our services could not be provided to users if we were required to provide them by ‘human intervention’ (i.e. have someone review the action themselves, rather than relying only on the automated method). If you would like more information on how our automated system works then please contact us at admin@zzjimi.com. We would be pleased to provide you with information which is not business sensitive and does not compromise our business model or our Intellectual Property rights.
We will only use your personal data for the purpose(s) for which it was originally collected unless we reasonably believe that another purpose is compatible with that or those original purpose(s) and need to use your personal data for that purpose. If we do use your personal data in this way and you wish us to explain how the new purpose is compatible with the original, please contact us at admin@zzjimi.com.
If we need to use your personal data for a purpose that is unrelated to, or incompatible with, the purpose(s) for which it was originally collected, we will inform you and explain the legal bases which allows us to do so.
In some circumstances, where permitted or required by law, we may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent. This will only be done within the bounds of the Data Protection Legislation and your legal rights.
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
We only store or transfer your personal data within the UK. This means that it will be fully protected under the Data Protection Legislation. However, the organisers listing on our Site may well be outside of, and therefore store and transfer your data outside of the UK. User’s personal data is stored on our database, which is on our cloud hosting account. We use the Amazon Cognito system and SSL encryption to secure our user data. The database is kept entirely separate from the user's "identifiable" personal data. The system uses encrypted user keys to keep the two sets of data separate, thereby increasing the level of security for users in the event that one set is compromised.
We will not share any of your personal data with any third parties for any purposes, subject to the following exceptions:
a) Third parties to whom we may choose to sell, transfer, or merge parts of our business or our assets. Alternatively, we may seek to acquire other businesses or merge with them. If a change happens to our business, then the new owners may use your personal data in the same way as set out in this privacy notice;
b) Service providers acting as processors who provide IT and system administration services. These providers will be bound by a separate agreement with us, which complies with the Data Protection Legislation, in order to protect the users’ data.
c) In some limited circumstances, we may be legally required to share certain personal data, which might include yours, if we are involved in legal proceedings or complying with legal obligations, a court order, or the instructions of a government authority.
If any of your personal data is shared with a third party, as described above, we will take steps to ensure that your personal data is handled safely, securely, and in accordance with your rights, our obligations, and the third party’s obligations under the law, as described above in Part 9.
We are particularly committed to protecting the privacy and safety of children and young people between the ages of 13-18 years old. If you are between 13- 18 years old, please obtain your parent’s/guardian’s permission before you provide us with any personal information.
If you are under 16 years old, you should never agree to attend any activity/event or meet anyone from an organisation running an activity or event without your parent’s/guardian’s knowledge.
In addition to your rights under the Data Protection Legislation, set out in Part 5, when you submit personal data via Our Site, you may be given options to restrict our use of your personal data. In particular, we aim to give you strong controls on our use of your data for direct marketing purposes. When you first register we will ask you to opt-in to receive emails from us, you then always have the ability to opt-out of receiving e-mails from us, which you may do, by using the option on your Profile page.
We also give you the opportunity to receive email notifications specifically of your Wishlist results. You need to select this option to receive notifications. If you do not select this option you will need to check your Wishlist results regularly for yourself. You will find this option on your Wishlist dashboard.
You can also unsubscribe by clicking the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any email received.
You may access certain areas of Our Site without providing any personal data at all. However, to use all features and functions available on Our Site you may be required to submit or allow the collection of certain data.
If you want to know what personal data we have about you, you can ask us for details of that personal data and for a copy of it (where any such personal data is held). This is known as a “subject access request”.
All subject access requests should be made in writing and sent to the e-mail or postal addresses shown in Part 2.
There is not normally any charge for a subject access request. If your request is ‘manifestly unfounded or excessive’ (for example, if you make repetitive requests) a fee may be charged to cover our administrative costs in responding.
We will respond to your subject access request within 28 days. Normally, we aim to provide a complete response, including a copy of your personal data within that time. In some cases, however, particularly if your request is more complex, more time may be required up to a maximum of three months from the date we receive your request. You will be kept fully informed of our progress.
We may change this Privacy Notice from time to time. This may be necessary, for example, if the law changes, or if we change our business in a way that affects personal data protection.
Any changes will be immediately posted on our Site and you will be deemed to have accepted the terms of the Privacy Policy on your first use of our Site following the alterations. We recommend that you check this page regularly to keep up to date.
